JoeysBrainWork: Hub-bub has brought happiness to my life.
About a month ago I received a fundraising letter from Hub-bub: Spartanburg’s cultural epicenter. I put the flyer and letter in a stack of other mail that I planned to look over eventually. What I should have done was pull out my checkbook right then.
I moved to Spartanburg in 2003 and it…

Just learned of this opportunity. Deadline is Monday, August 15th.
Calling all composers and musicians! We need your help with providing the soundtrack to an educational video for The Trevor Project. We’re looking for an instrumental song between 1:30-2:00 minutes long with some or all of the following characteristics:
- Electric rock instrumentation
- Electronica influences
- Mixed minor and major key tonality
- Thru composed melodic style
- Synth rock arranging
- Indietronica influences
Think of your favorite, upbeat Postal Service remix!
Send us your original song by 8/15 to: Steven.Hannigan@TheTrevorProject.org
And make the subject line: “My Trevor Music Submission”
If we choose your song, we’ll credit you and your website in the video and on our youtube channel!

A shout out to the amazing artists who worked together to create this gorgeous painting at The Coffee Bar in Spartanburg, which is my temporary Avatar for What’s Up Y’all.
Local design companies are working on a logo for our show right now and eventually we’ll let you vote up your favorite. Stay tuned.
But since our show comes from The Coffee Bar in Spartanburg and this painting is such a signature item for that location, we thought we’d let you see it here on Tumblr and on Twitter and it might entice you to come down to my favorite coffee shop for a real life look.
Thanks for stopping by :)
